We are pleased to introduce a new brand called Pai to our skin care range. Pai skin care products are specially formulated for people with sensitive skin, problem skin (like acne) and allergy-prone skin.

Pai Moisturisers

Pai moisturisers are free from:

Alcohol (dries & irritates skin)
Skin irritants including Propylene Glycol, Phenoxyethanol, Formaldehyde (incl. Sodium Hydroxymethylglycinate)
All synthetic and natural Parabens
Beeswax (pore blocking & comedogenic)

As Pai’s organic moisturisers do not contain synthetic preservatives or alcohol it results in a shorter shelf life. We advise that you purchase for immediate use and Store in a cool dry place. Use within 6 months of opening.

Are simple skin care products oil-free and tested on animals?

Recently we had an email enquiry asking “are Simple skin care products oil-free?“. To help others with similar queries we have decided to post our response on this blog.

The short answer is yes, some products from the Simple range are oil-free, for example the facial wipes and make-up remover pads (If you know any more products that are oil-free leave us a comment below).

Certain Simple Skincare products are not oil-free but are great at absorbing excess oil, like the Clear Skin Oil Balancing Exfoliating Wash. It’s worth noting that all Simple products contain no perfume, colours or harsh chemials. Just plain and simple!

Are Simple Products tested on Animals?
You may also be pleased to know that Simple Skin care products are NOT tested on animals and are free of animal derived ingredients. On the official Simple web site they state the following in their Frequently Asked Questions section:

Simple products are not tested on animals. All SIMPLE products and ingredients are subject to full product safety clearance in compliance with the European Cosmetic Directive. Should further research be required on a particular product or ingredient, we can confirm that as a responsible manufacturer, suitable non-animal testing techniques are employed.

Simple Clear Skin Oil Balancing Exfoliating Wash Review

I have oily spot-prone skin so I was looking for a facial wash that removes excess oil from my skin and at the same time help get rid of my spots.

The Simple Oil Balancing Ex-foliating Wash comes in a large 150ml tub so I imagine I won’t be buying it again any time soon (fingers crossed). As for the product itself, well it gave my face a tingling sensation and my skin felt really clean afterwards. Unlike other products it did not dry my skin out so no need to rush for a moisturiser after using this.

Would I buy again? Yes definitely – this product has kept my mild acne at bay with the help of a little benzoyl peroxide cream and is great value for money considering the amount you get in a tub.

Simple Kind To Skin Hydrating Light Moisturiser

I never used to use a moisturiser on my skin because I have very oily skin, but I have learnt now that even oily skin needs moisturisation! This product is perfect for any sensitive skin type, especially if you are prone to tight-feeling skin after clensing or have dry / flaky patches (such as those induced by acne treatements). Like all other Simple products it is fragrance and colour-free, and like the moisturising facial wash include vitamin e and b5 to condition the skin. I apply twice daily after clensing and find this moisturiser absolutely great, as it sinks in quickly without leaving a sticky or greasy residue, and it makes my skin feel extra soft and supple providing a great surface for applying makeup. The moisturiser is not comedogenic, so shouldn’t contribute to any acne problems and I would thoroughly recommend this moisturiser to anyone who’s skin just needs a little more tlc to look radiant.

Carmex Classic Moisturising Lip Balm

This little garish yellow tube of weird-smelling stuff kept me sane when my lips felt like they were falling off! I’ll be the first to admit that the tube is a less than ideal colour but it makes it so much easier to find in a handbag full of essentials!! When I first used this lipbalm, I was struck by the fragrance of it, caused by the menthol/camphor ingredients and it took a bit of getting used to. The effect of the lipbalm once you have got past the scent is unbeatable for dry, chapped lips. It soothes even the flakiest weather-worn of lips and prevents further cracking etc. The antibacterial formula also ensures that any splits don’t get infected. I find the applicator interesting as you just squeeze out a little worm of balm and smear it on your lips, but it works fantastically and you don’t end up with messy fingers. If your current lipbalm really isn’t doing the job and your lips are crying out for something more effective, then for goodness sake get yourself some carmex!

Simple Hydrating Light Moisturiser

This moisturiser is perfect for dry, flaky, sensitive skin. After taking harsh drugs for acne my skin was left dry and sore and most products would sting and burn and generally make my face feel even more uncomfortable. However this moisturiser always felt really good, no stinging, no nothing. It absorbs quickly and leaves a good base for make up. All in all, a super product!!!
